What should be considered when buying rivets and eyelets?
How are eyelets attached and what are the differences in size?
Rivets and eyelets with washers are often sew-free products that are generally easy to apply. They come in various sizes, allowing for many different uses. The necessary tools for installation are usually included, so all you need is your own hammer.
However, you still have several options for attaching the eyelets. The smaller sizes, from 4.5mm to 8mm, can easily be attached using other tools of your choice, such as the Vario pliers or other striking tools like the ergonomic tripod. For eyelets larger than 8mm, you should use the included special tool and your own hammer. When attaching the eyelets, it's important to position them so they don't rotate on the fabric; this ensures they are secure and won't tear out easily.
However, there are also eyelets that can be sewn on. These eyelets are already fixed in a backing material such as faux leather. The patch is then simply sewn onto this backing.

Once ironed on, the Power Dot is firmly bonded to the fabric. It is then no longer visible, as it is covered by the fasteners. Especially with fine, single-layer fabrics, these helpers provide extra protection and therefore added security. They are also suitable for easily repairing torn-out snaps and eyelets.
